The LB-2313 is a 1/2 oz Arky jig head painted in Red (Pro-Tec #14) and assembled in the USA exclusively for LunkrBytes by a small American craftsman. Every head is poured, painted with a chip-resistant Pro-Tec finish, fitted with a Mustad 5/0 black nickel hook and a medium brown fiber weedguard, then inspected before packaging. Slide any replacement bass jig skirt straight onto the collar — or hand-tie your own skirt directly to the collar for a more secure hold than a standard banded skirt.

Color: Red — Pro-Tec #14

Pure red is a cold-water weapon. As water temps drop into the 40s, crawfish take on a deep red coloration in clay-bottomed lakes and river systems. The single most effective color on Alabama's clay-bank reservoirs in January and February. Slow-drag it — the slower the better.

Why the Arky Head?

The flat, angled head design creates a horizontal, side-sliding fall that triggers reaction strikes from bass positioned at any depth in cover. The same head skips easily under docks and swims like a swim jig — the most versatile style in the lineup.

Best For / Avoid

  • Best For: Dock skipping, pitching to brush, flipping spawning pockets, swimming along bluff walls.
  • Avoid: Open deep water where a football wobble or natural ball-head fall is more effective. The arky shines in contact with cover.
  • Depth Range: 2–20 feet
  • Prime Seasons: Spring for spawning pockets; summer for dock shade and deep brush; fall for staging fish on wood.

Technique

Master the skip cast for docks. On pitches, keep slack out and watch the line on the fall — most strikes happen on the descent. The flat arky head also swims effectively at a slow, steady retrieve along the bottom.

Weedguard: Medium — 21-Strand Brown

Medium protection with natural color matching for crawfish and wood-cover builds. Blends seamlessly with laydowns and clay-bank structure.

Trailer Synergy

4" chunk, beaver bait, or full-size craw (Zoom Ultrahog, Strike King Rage Lobster). Heavy cover demands a larger profile to give big fish a reason to commit.

Pro Tip: Red + Arky

Cold water specialist: Red jig heads produce best below 50 degrees. Drag it as slowly as possible — literally inches per minute — on main lake clay banks in 10-20 feet. The colder the water, the slower you go.

Skirt Trimming Tip

Clear water: trim to 80% of original length for a compact, natural profile. Stained water: leave full length for maximum water movement and vibration. Always use sharp scissors in one clean motion across all strands — never pull individual strands.
